Notes

Notes is a persistent scratchpad for the current project - a place to record observations, plans, and findings-in-progress without leaving the Ogma workspace.

Writing and Reviewing Notes

  1. Open Utilities > Notes.
  2. Write in Edit mode. Each project has one Markdown scratchpad, not a list of separate titled notes.
  3. Use headings and checklists to organize observations, questions, and remaining work.
  4. Switch to Preview to review the rendered Markdown.

Changes save automatically after a short pause. Save also saves immediately. Use Find to locate text within the scratchpad and Export to download it as a Markdown file.

Persisting Across Sessions

Notes are stored within the current project. They persist across Ogma restarts as long as you open the same project. Notes do not transfer automatically when you switch to a different project.

Useful Patterns During an Engagement

  • Add a Plan heading with the remaining test scope and a checklist of completed steps.
  • Use a Questions heading to track anything that needs confirmation.
  • Draft potential findings with reproduction steps and evidence IDs before adding them to the Findings panel.
  • Treat notes and their exports as sensitive engagement data.
  • Note the time you first observed an anomaly - useful when the client asks about when testing covered a specific area.
